This question has perplexed mankind throughout the ages. Little
has changed since Plato’s proclamation in the fourth century
BC: “To fear death is nothing else but to take credit for wisdom
which one does not possess, that is to have too high an opinion
of oneself that one knows something that he actually does not
know. No one knows whether death, which people fear to be
the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good”.
This insightful documentary from the creators of the awardwinning
“Great Mystery of Water” seeks to give an unobtrusive
answer to the issue of death, drawing on opinions of leading
scientists from around the globe, including Nobel Prize laureates,
practicing medics, philosophers and religious figures.
Filmed in Europe, the US, Japan, Russia and the Middle East, the
interviews are skilfully interwoven with historical reconstructions
and scientific experiments.
This thought-provoking film delivers some striking findings,
such as the reason why those who die “in loving arms” or who
are in love go to “the other side” much more easily than those
who are not so blessed.
